The World Economic Forum Global Shapers Doha Hub is a community of young people working to improve the state of their city. Part of the World Economic Forum’s Global Shapers Community, the Hub brings together some of Qatar’s most driven leaders in their twenties — and connects them to a network of more than 11,000 Shapers in over 450 cities worldwide.
The Hub takes on the issues that matter here: sustainability and climate, education and equity, public policy, and the wellbeing of the community. Its Shapers have worked alongside the College of Public Policy at Hamad Bin Khalifa University, joined Global Shapers gatherings across the Middle East, and run projects spanning environmental advocacy, education, and support for children in long-term care.

We are building a hub that carries real weight — where the people shaping Qatar’s future convene, where local action connects to a global stage, and where a generation of leaders is formed. Our aim is an institution that outlasts any single year or curator: one whose work earns Doha a lasting place in the conversations that decide what comes next, in the region and beyond.

A record of the Hub’s work since 2011 — from hospital wards and mosque courtyards to research papers, panel stages, and the UN’s Summit of the Future.
Freshly prepared iftar meals — more than 100 each Ramadan — distributed with dignity to low-income workers and vulnerable individuals across Doha.
Interactive workshops where more than 70 school-aged participants planned Qatari cities and allocated sustainable investments across energy, transport, and infrastructure.
A screening of “Three Oceans Advocates” and a discussion on protecting marine life from plastic pollution, held during Qatar Sustainability Week.
Shapers carried Qatari youth voices into the global conversation at HBKU’s Hadaba edition, running parallel to the UN Summit of the Future in New York.
A panel of sustainable-finance, impact-investing, and ESG experts on how capital can accelerate the transition to a green economy.
A research collaboration with Qatar Development Bank on the interplay of investment, community, and entrepreneurship in the Qatari innovation ecosystem.
A Gulf-region flagship for personal and family financial literacy — savings, planning, and investment workshops whose tools have reached more than 40,000 families. Recognised by regional central banks and adopted as a peer benchmark across eight sibling hubs.
A month-long behavioural campaign to cut everyday consumer waste — daily challenges, workshops, and citizen storytelling that turned reduction into a shared public habit.
A TEDx-style evening at Qatar National Library on Globalization 4.0 — Shapers, academics, and changemakers on inequality, climate, and technology.
A public lecture series on climate that reached more than 2,500 people — marquee editions featured former IPCC chair Dr Rajendra Pachauri and UNFCCC leadership around the COP cycle.
Early-morning park runs that double as litter clean-ups — five editions, occasionally joined by ambassadors and public figures.
Activities and awareness events celebrating people with special needs — including World Down Syndrome Day at IKEA and seminars in Education City.
Annual iftar packing and distribution at Education City Mosque and ration support for less-privileged families across Doha.
Games, reading, and magic tricks with children facing terminal illness — three years of visits that gave families moments of lightness.
